What is Drop Drop (drop.host) is a free temporary file sharing service developed and operated by Host S.p.A. The service allows users to upload files and share them via temporary links, without registration.
**Data collected**
- During use of the service we collect the following data:
- → IP address of the sender (who uploads the file)
- → IP address of the recipient (who downloads the file)
- → Browser and operating system (user agent)
- → Name, size and type of the uploaded file
- → Date and time of upload and download
- → SHA-256 checksum of the file
**Purpose of processing**
- Data is collected exclusively to:
- → Ensure the correct functioning of the service
- → Prevent abuse and unlawful activities
- → Comply with legal obligations
Data retention Uploaded files are automatically deleted after 7 days. Access logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) are retained for 72 months as required by applicable law. After this period, IP addresses are anonymised.
Location of processing All data is processed and stored exclusively on servers located in Italy, managed by Host S.p.A.
